So as I find sometimes I need a big goal (one that seems slightly unattainable at the time) I've decided to do a half marathon race this year. Disney World has always been a magical and special place for me and their races actually look fun so I thought - what better to strive toward than a Run Disney Half Marathon. Enter - the Wine and Dine Disney Half Marathon. What race is better than one … [Read more...] about Run Disney 2014

As a P90X Grad I have shouted from the rooftops about the awesomeness of that program. However, it is a time investment! Most P90X workouts are 60 to 90 min long. P90X2 – SAME boat. Enter P90X3 – and FINALLY we are into a short but highly effective workout. 30 MIN everyone! Everyone should be able to work in 30 min for themselves during their day. My T25 Challenge group proved that 25 min is way … [Read more...] about Are you Ready to Bring it P90X3 Style?
Well after much experimenting I have been happily Vegan since December 1. I still occasionally eat fish but other than that have made a full transition. My husband has pretty much joined me as well - the teens - not so much. With that said - I am now starting week 5 of Focus T25 and am loving it. So far I have lost 5 pounds total and a bunch of inches and my challenge group in total has lost … [Read more...] about Vegan and Focus T25
Why is fitness and nutrition so important to me? My WHY is what I think of when I feel like quitting. Whether I am thinking of skipping my workout that day or quitting the program I am on - I think back to WHY I started. For me my why is simple - Everyday I do some kind of exercise whether its walking, stretching or a workout program to prevent Lupus from taking control of my body making me … [Read more...] about Why your “Why” is so important!
Ok, I have to say for myself I have had a tough winter. I have lost a very close friend to breast cancer, my son has had a number of surgeries and I have felt the effects of Lupus most of the season. It's been challenging to say the least. But its spring, flowers are blooming, the weather is warming and I feel an urgency to get back to living well. Since going vegan in December I have lost a … [Read more...] about Ah Spring – Renewal – Get your butt off the couch and get fit!
It has been a little bit of time since I have posted. I have been really working hard to get my eating right over the last several months. I am Vegan now with an occasional fish dish here and there. Eating this way has definitely allowed me to maintain my weight easily whether I was counting calories or not, exercising or not and has made it much easier when I eat out to make healthier … [Read more...] about My review of a few Beachbody Programs
This year I decided to get involved and try to raise some money towards our local Walk for Lupus. I have never participated in these walks primarily because they have always scheduled them late into the fall when the weather was really too cold for me to be out for a walk (no idea who thought that was a good plan) but this year they moved it up to early October. Unfortunately all my friends had … [Read more...] about My Walk for Lupus 2012!
My first round of P90X was not a failure by any stretch. I was stronger than I had ever been in my life BUT I didn’t have extreme results like so many that had come before me. The difference? THE DIET. I didn’t follow the meal plan enough, I ate better but I didn’t make the change I needed for the results I wanted. Don’t let this be you. I’ll give you some great suggestions to make sure you … [Read more...] about Get your eating under control! Helpful book reviews and services to get you going.

So if you follow my blog you know I am a big advocate of planning your meals. I have recently changed over to a new website/app called pepperplate (www.pepperplate.com). Every Friday or Saturday I sit down with my cookbooks, laptop and figure out what meals I am going to make for the week. Previously I would then create a grocery list from the recipes and then do another version of the list in … [Read more...] about Meal Planning at its best
